Polypropylene sediment cartridge, 10-inch × 2.5-inch format, 20-micron filtration. It captures suspended particles such as sand and rust.

Compatibility

For standard 10-inch × 2.5-inch compatible filter housings, notably the pre-filter of our water softener installation kit. Check the size of your filter housing before ordering. Sold individually, without bowl or filter head.

Replacement

Shut off the water supply and depressurize the filter housing. Replace the cartridge, check the seal, then gradually turn the water back on and check for leaks. Follow the instructions in your filter housing manual. Replace the cartridge when it is dirty or the flow rate decreases, depending on water quality and usage.

This mechanical pre-filter complements a water softener; it does not reduce water hardness.
